Today's commercials both start with "Mc". They are McDonald's and McGruff.

The McDonald's commercial features the entire McDonaldland gang. Unfortunately, many of them are no longer with us. Ronald McDonald is currently doing occasional commercials that have nothing to do with Happy Meals like 1 minute workouts for kids. But that's today's news. This is Flashback City. Let's talk about the old commercial that you're about to see. This commercial shows you how they put the so called "happy" in a Happy Meal. The toy featured is the Happy Birthday Happy Meal. This makes since for two reasons. One, that commercial aired on my birthday. Two, 1994 was the McDonald's Happy Meal's 15th birthday.

The McGruff commercial features his nephew Scruff "improving his mind" with a comic book. McGruff uses his "Magic Zapper" and seriously improves Scruff's mind. The free comic book advertised is Scruff's adventures. It tells you what to do about trouble on the bus, finding drugs, and much more. Scruff gets pretty annoying at the end of the commercial. You'll see why.
