Dixie Classic Fair in 1961In honor of the 2006 Dixie Classic Fair, I thought that it would be neat to take a look back at the fair's past.
The original fair started in 1882 as a grain exhibition in Salem before the town merged with Winston. After years of being at its original fairground, it moved into its more familiar current fairground in 1952. It was renamed the Dixie Classic Fair in 1956.
